Fantastic voyage is a classic science fiction movie in the same vein as ones by Jules Verne(Journey to center of the earth). A submarine is shrunk down and injected into a person with a brain injury. The idea is to remove the clot with a laser onboard.
Their constraint is that they only have sixty minutes before they start growing back to normal size and killing the patient.
I like this movie because, besides it premise, it tries avoids any sense of fantasy. During the voyage, they go through many of the body main systems and they look like you would expect them to look. If this were a Jules Verne story, we would find a tribe of human-like creatures canoeing in the blood stream.
They travel along the circulatory system propelled by the direction of the blood. They seeing red blood cells and trying to avoid the white ones which would attack and kill them. They encounter problems and solutions which are uniquely related to the human body.
The movie was made in 1966, and it may be a little slow by today's standards but I find it an interesting unique movie.
