2/28/21 Murder By Decree

The 1979 "Murder By Decree" was one of the first Sherlock Holmes movies in decades. At the time, the gold standard was Basil Rathbone/Nigel Bruce movies made in the 1940's The movie stars Christopher Plumber as Holmes and James Mason as Dr Watson. This adequate movie is on the list due to the recent death of Christopher Plumber. There are flashes of great Sherlock Holmes scenes. The movie is slow movie at times and the cinematic decision to shot the whole movie through a fog filter is also distracting.
