"Life of Brian" is a parody of Christ's life done by the Monty Python troop. It tells the story of Brian who was born around the same time as christ. When the movie came out in 1979. It was so controversial, it was based in various places of Europe. including Ireland. They pythons used that in their Swedish advertising:"So funny, it is banned in Norway."The pythons went on a talk show called "Friday Night,Saturday Morning" where they were ready to seriously discuss the merits of Organized religion. Unfortunately, the clergy on the show didnt watch the whole movie and thought Brian was Christ. Looking at the clips now on You tube, you see how much more articulate John Cleese is.
I only saw this movie on video years later and what struck me was it was not a simple parody of Christ but a series of sketches relating to organized religion and politics.
