8/21/21 Family Plot

"Family Plot" is Alfred Hitchcock's last film. Surprisingly, it is not a Innocent Man story. It follows two couples who are both scammers. George and Blanche are low class. Blanche is a fake psychic who scams the elderly twenty five dollars at a time. George backs her up by doing the detective work which blanche attributes to psychic powers. They are constantly fighting and yelling at each other. On the other hand, Arthur and Fran are high class. They have a very successful kidnapping and ransom scam. They are reserved. Fran executes the ransom pickup without saying a word. Through a set of circumstances, the couples collide. The film concludes with the roles reversed. Arthur and Fran start fighting and Blanche and George act reserved with the reverse results.
