"High Anxiety" is Mel Brooks' tribute to Hitchcock. He parodies names like the middle initial from "North by Northwest," The camera position from "Spellbound," the lighting from "Suspicion," and the tower from "Vertigo". Of course he has a cool blonde as heroine. The more you know about Hitchcock, the more interesting the movie is.
