Army of Darkness is the third installment of the evil dead series.
The first movie was a straight horror. A bunch of kids go to a cabin in the woods and find a book of the dead made of human flesh. Of course they read it and awake the evil dead.
The second movie was a remake of the first but it takes itself less seriously. The main character adopts a chainsaw for a hand. Some of the ghost are unusual. For example, one of them dances where he rolls his head down his arms like Fred Astaire would do with a hat. Still the over all genre is horror.
Army of Darkness goes straight to the camp. Ashe has turned into a wise cracking superhero. He is sent back in time and gets to make fun of medieval people. The camera work is over the top and there is a gratuitous number of explosive thanks to a Chemistry 101 book Ashe had.
