"The Lady in the Lake" is Robert Montgomery's take on the Raymond Chandler's Philip Marlowe. I find it interesting for its experimental technique. This 1946 movie immediately broke the fourth wall with Marlowe talking directly to us. It then went on to a story where it is shot in first person. The viewer occasionally seen Marlowe in mirrors. The movie itself doesnt quite work but I found it interesting. My kids reaction was more blasé since they were very familiar with first person video games.
