In Scorsese's "GoodFellas", we follow the life of Henry Hill who from a young age, inspires to be a gangster. In fact, he says "To me being a gangster was better than being president of the United States"
The movie is based on a the life of a real wiseguy but that does not slow it down. Scorsese shows us his mastery of the cinema. For me, it has one of the most engaging opening of any movie. You are immediately interested in how the main character ended up at this point.
